Inglourious Basterds - Spoiler Alert

Brad Pitt. BJ Novak. Nazis. Machine Guns. Bear Jews. Carving swastikas into people's foreheads. This movie has it all, but I don't know if I liked it or not.
The premise of dropping Jewish commandos into Nazi France is promising, but I think that Quentin Tarantino took it a bit too far. Changing history entirely just for the heck of it didn't really do it for me. Had Hitler and the rest of the German High Command not shown up or something, I think I would have liked the movie better. But killing off all but three cast members, including Hitler, seems a bit extreme. While people simply accept this as Tarantino's style, I don't like it.
I think that if QT had just continued on the premise of killing Nazis, as Brad Pitt expressed his business to be, it would have made a great movie. But I don't think the added drama about Hitler, the French lady, or the movie premier was necessary or made the film better.
Any comments?

I am a big Terentino-fan. I can't help it. Although in killing off
all
the characters I did think he went a bit too far, part of Terentino's style
is
going a bit too far to disturb the audience for a couple of days.
And I enjoy it when history is changed in historical movies. It keeps things more suspenseful. De toute fa?on I go to the movies to escape from the real world.
I thought Shoshanna's story was relevant and wrapped things up well.
All in all I think that he did go off the deep end a little, but for some reason that always leaves me giggling with glee in the back of the theatre. I can't explain why. I just love Terentino stuff.

I may be a biased jew who secretly loves thinking people will consider him the bear jew, but I'm ABSOLUTELY in love with this movie. I thought it was like a way to take a peaceful vengeance on the terrible things that happened with the nazis, Killing Hitler made me... well, let's just say people in the theater were freaked out by how excited i was. Tarantino can certainly make you hate someone and he can certainly make you enjoy watching that person die
